If you have forgotten your account password or wish to reset it for security reasons, you can request a password reset at any time via your registered email address.
Step 1: Access the Login Screen
1. Open the app and tap your profile/avatar icon in the top right corner. 2. Tap "Log in". 3. If you are on the registration tab, tap the link at the bottom to switch to "Log in".
Step 2: Request the reset link
1. Directly below the password field, tap the highlighted text: "Forgot your password?". 2. The form will update to display a single field for your email address. 3. Enter the email address you used when signing up for bananatribe. 4. Tap the "Send reset link" button. 5. A confirmation box will appear notifying you that the email containing the secure link has been sent successfully.
Step 3: Open the email and click the link
1. Check your email inbox (you will receive an official email from bananatribe within 1-2 minutes). 2. If you do not see the email in your inbox, check your Spam or Junk folder. 3. Open the email and tap the button or link "Reset password". 4. The link will automatically open the app directly to the secure reset page (/reset-password).
⏳ Link security: the reset link is strictly personal and has a limited validity period. If the link is expired or invalid, the page will display a clear message with a "Request a new link" button to request an updated one.
Step 4: Choose your new password
On the reset page, you will find two fields to enter and confirm your new password:
1. New password: - Minimum 8 characters. - A visual checklist will guide you by verifying in real time the presence of: - At least one uppercase letter; - At least one lowercase letter; - At least one special character; - At least one number. - You can tap the eye icon (👁️) to show or hide the characters entered. 2. Confirm password: - Re-type the same password to make sure there are no typos. 3. Tap the "Update password" button.
Step 5: Automatic login and confirmation
- A green message will confirm the successful update ("Password updated successfully"). - Within a second and a half, you will be automatically redirected to the Home screen, already logged in and ready to browse channels, join events, and chat with the tribe.
Helpful tips and troubleshooting
- Email not received: ensure you entered the exact email address used during your initial registration (and not an alias or an alternative address). - The link shows an error or expired session: tap "Request a new link" and ensure you open the most recent email received.
