bananatribe is a next-generation Progressive Web App (PWA). You don't need to visit the App Store or Google Play: you can install it directly from your browser in just a few seconds without taking up precious phone storage, enjoying a smooth, fast, full-screen experience identical to a native app.
💡 Note: the installation banner appears inside the app only after logging in or completing onboarding, so it won't interrupt your first steps.
Step 1: on iPhone and iPad (Apple Safari) 🍎
On iOS, Apple does not permit automatic one-click installation buttons, but manual installation takes less than 10 seconds:
1. Open Safari and go to my.bananatribe.com. 2. In Safari's toolbar (at the bottom on iPhone, or top right on iPad), tap the Share button (the square icon with an upward arrow: ⎋ / 📤). 3. In the menu that appears, scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen" (icon with a square and a +). 4. In the top right, a preview of the official yellow icon will appear with the name bananatribe; tap "Add". 5. You will immediately find the bananatribe icon on your iPhone's Home screen: tap it to open the app in full screen without browser bars.
Step 2: on Android Smartphones (Google Chrome) 🤖
With Google Chrome on Android, installation is instantaneous thanks to the automatic prompt:
1. Open Google Chrome and go to my.bananatribe.com. 2. A dedicated banner will appear at the top of the screen featuring the app logo and the prompt "Install app for faster access". 3. Tap the blue "Install" button (with the downward arrow). 4. Confirm by tapping "Install" in the Android system dialog. 5. The app will be automatically added to your Home screen and your App Drawer.
Alternatively (if you dismissed the banner): - Tap the three vertical dots (⋮) in the top right corner of Chrome. - Select "Install app" (or Add to Home screen). - Tap "Install".
Step 3: on Samsung Phones (Samsung Internet) 🪐
On Samsung Galaxy phones, the default Samsung Internet browser can sometimes try to generate a package file that Google Play Protect flags as an unknown app, displaying an annoying false alarm ("Unsafe app blocked").
To provide maximum security and prevent erroneous warnings, bananatribe never forces automatic downloads on Samsung Internet; instead, it recommends a clean and safe installation via the browser menu:
1. Open Samsung Internet and go to my.bananatribe.com. 2. Tap the menu icon (the button with three horizontal lines ☰ at the bottom right of the screen). 3. Tap the icon showing a phone or plus symbol: "+ Add page to". 4. From the options, select "Home screen". 5. Tap "Add" to confirm. 6. The app will appear safely on your Home screen 100% error-free, triggering no security warnings and opening in full screen.
